A deposit from another exchange hasn't arrived: confirmations, network checks and a clear support ticket
You sent crypto from one exchange to another and the balance has not moved. A calm, ordered check: the sending side, the blockchain, the receiving side, and what to include in a support ticket.
Multiple exchanges | Nigeria | NGN | fees, access and account safety
The withdrawal says completed on one exchange, but the other exchange shows nothing. Panic sets in, and so do the scammers, who watch Nigerian crypto groups for exactly this kind of complaint. Before doing anything else, work through the transfer in the order the coins travelled: the sending exchange, the blockchain, and then the receiving exchange. In most cases the cause shows up at one of those three steps, and knowing which one tells you who can actually fix it.
Check the sending exchange first
Open the withdrawal history on the exchange you sent from. If the status is processing or under review, the coins have not left yet, and the fix lies with that exchange. If it is completed, copy the transaction ID, also called TxID or hash, along with the network and the destination address shown. Compare that address with the deposit address on the receiving exchange, and confirm the network matches one listed on its deposit page.
Follow the transaction on the blockchain
Paste the TxID into the block explorer for that network. Check that the transaction succeeded, that it went to your deposit address and how many confirmations it has. The receiving exchange's deposit page states how many confirmations it waits for before crediting; until that number is reached, a delay is normal. During busy periods confirmations can take longer, so give it time before assuming something is wrong.
Look at the receiving side's requirements
If the transaction is confirmed but not credited, check three things on the receiving exchange. Was a memo or tag required and included? Was the amount above the minimum deposit? Is the network you used supported for that coin, and is deposit for that coin currently open, or is there a maintenance notice in the announcements? Any of these can stop automatic crediting, but a support team can often recover the deposit manually.
Raise a clear ticket and ignore helpers
Contact support from inside the receiving exchange's app, through the deposit record or the help chat. Include the coin, amount, network, TxID, sending exchange, deposit address and a screenshot of the withdrawal record. Keep all communication in that channel. Anyone who messages you on Telegram, WhatsApp or X offering to recover the deposit for a fee is a scammer, and no real support agent will ask for your password or codes.
